We have several hundred users utilizing a telnet program to access a UNIX based server. Most users are not using the proper procedure for exiting the app, leaving hung resources in the system. I would like to disable the x button from the title bar so this would not be an issue. Thanks in advance.

Well, worse comes to worst, find a different telnet program or find someone to write one for you. Or tell everybody how to properly exit telnet, and hope they listen.

And you need to log out of the current connection before closing telnet? I wish I knew that... That doesn't make things really easy, does it. That's not fun.. but thanks for letting me know.
Liam Morley
lmorley@wpi.edu
<a href=] :: imotic :: website :: [
"light the deep, and bring silence to the world.
light the world, and bring depth to the silence.

Can you not set something up on the unix side to clean up the hung resources after the user's connection is closed.
Another thing, is the loggout procedure complicated to type? If it is then could you make a script for them so that when they type "bye" or something like that it logs them out properly?

that's just my two cents...

fenris
fenris@hotmail.com
