Hello,

We are deploying Citrix in our many sites, and we have problems ensuring that client names (in wfcname.ini) are unique; this is under the control of local IT staff. When there are duplicates, you can all guess the problems that crop up...

The duplicate names are most likely due to machines being ghosted.

Is there any way we, at the server-side, could prevent this from happening ? We thought of using the login script to automatically update this file with something meaningful and unique, but it would be nice to find some other mechanism as many sites have no logon script and whose IT staff is not really that familiar with logon scripts.

Thanks for any suggestions !

We had a similair problem. You are using ghosting for deploying computers. Create a ghost without the file WFCNAME.INI (just delete it). When a users start the ICA client, it will create a new one with the right computername in it. The users need to have access rights to the location to change the WFCNAME.INI.
