prevent users from printing only single pages of a pdf

Hi there,

I lately received a pdf document, where I cannot print single pages of the document. I know there may be some workarounds but I'm interested in why it doesn't work.
I am only able to print the whole document.
Is this a security feature of acrobat?
I thought it was only possible to prevent printing in general.
Any hint would be appreciated.
