Prevent the Hidding of Files and Folders

We have a few student shared folders here at our school network. Kids who have read and write access to the folder like to mess with teachers and hide files. I know I can prevent this by changing the Write Attribute permission however this breaks the students ability from editing their existing files. Is there a simpler way?
