Hi,

At the school where I work we are using Netware 6 SP5 and Zenworks 4.01 ir6.

I have Window Group Policies set up for the Windows XP Professional computers and they are working great.

One issue and I can't seem to find it is that for the Student Group Policies for Windows XP I would like to disable the creation of shortcuts on the desktop.

Is there a policy in Group Policy for the students that I can prevent them from adding things to the desktop such as shortcuts? If so, where is the exact location (i.e. is it under User Configuartion or Computer Configuration etc..)?

Thanks!

Brad

stopping shortcuts is an awkward one
as they are writing to their profile
you either need to make it mandatory or volatile

or you can get creative with the rights but it's hard as you can only do this post creation

you could also use a shell
so you use a naldesktop effectively
