prevent screen from closing while macro runs

Hi, I'm running Accpac 6.
I've done a macro for a workflow step in purchasing workflow.
Is there a way to prevent the user from closing Accpac while a macro is still running?
The macro will fail if Accpac is closed while running. That applies to all macros I presume, not just Purchasing Workflow.

How are you dealing with this issue? Or do you just show a timer?

My macro runs as a step in Pacific Techs purchasing worflow and I can close Accpac while the macro is still running.
The Accpacvba.exe process still shows after Accpac is closed but the macro will fail.
