I have a RedHat Linux 7.2 server with Sendmail 8.11.6 that is also a webserver.
What should my configuration look like if I only want the server running sendmail to be able to send E-mail.
What I'm after is to be able to send E-mails from the different CGI/PHP-scripts on the same server but that no one else should be able to use my server to send E-mails.

Thanks in advance,
Jimmy

don't start sendmail in daemon mode.

have your script set up to know where to send the mail to, your 'smart' host and tell it to send immediately.

then just use your scripts to send mail ...

you won't receive any mail on that machine, but that doesn't sound like what you wanted ...
