I send an Excel workbook to multiple recipients. My workbook contains getpivotdata and vlookups that refer to another workbook that I do not want to email to the recipients. How do I prevent the workbook from refreshing and causing errors to the recipient?

With Excel 2003 you can use Edit,Links BreakLink to convert those link formulae to values. I don't recall that option in Excel 2000.

Right Click on the pivottable and have a look at the table options. Make sure "Refresh on Open" is not ticked.
Think about whether you want the data to be saved with the table (increases spreadsheet size and enables recipient to drill down or select a different pagefield etc. Consider copying to values.

Not sure why calculation options would be greyed out.
