I have an SQL Statement in my CR 8.5. The report was not sorting properly so I added an order by condition. I click OK in the SQL statement window and click save and exit. If I then call the report from my app (VB 6.0) it is sorted wonderfully. HOWEVER... if I go back and open the report and view the SQL statement the order by condition I added to the end is gone.
Any idea!!! Is there a regenerate SQL statement option that I have set to 'on' ? Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Instead of changing the SQL itself you can try to add your "order by" condition using the sort order. In CR 8.5 you can go to Report > Sort Records > Select Report field (left box) > Click Add to move it to the right side > select sort direction (ascending or descending).

When you use this method the SQL is automatically changed.

Hope this helps.
