Presentation server 4 - upgrading Office 2000 to Office 2003

Hello all-

I have a question concerning this seemingly easy upgrade but need to be sure..

We have one Citrix server running PS 4, and just afew publshed applications.

Office 2000 is one of them and would like to either upgrade or uninstall this and install Office 2003.. What is the best procedure for this? can someone provide steps ?

I would be doing an un-install and new install. I never liked doing upgrades. I would also advise against having both installed at the same time.

Hi Scott

Thanks for your insight on this siuation. If I may just add to this..
The server is a Windows 2003 SP1 Standard OS. There are only 20 .. maybe 25 users that have been accessing this server and they are basically outside salespeople using laptops connecting via the web client. I would just like the best practice method in this installation if you can provide any potential "gotchas" to look out for perhaps?

Would it be as simple as just uninstalling Office 2000, then installing Outlook 2k3, then pubishing the "apps" within the suite as it was (Outlook, Excel, Word etc)?


Any support or info would be awesome!

Pretty much yes. I would ask if you did any "customisation" when rolling out Office 2000 ? File locations, Custom.DIC etc ? If so You may be better doing an upgrade.

Good point and i'm not sure.. you see, this is a "hand me down".. I wasn't initially the engineer that deployed this. Generally, does Office 2000 deploy differently compared to Office 2K3? Path wise??
