We have installed Presentation Server 4 for WIndows 2000 server on our Citrix server after a complete reformat and reinstall of the operating system; the OS Is Windows 2000 server sp4.
We regularly seem to encounter the two following events but they appear at different times:

Event ID 26 Source Application Popup Type Information
Application popup: CpSvc.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x780105bf" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

EventID 7031 Source Service Control Manager Type Error
The Citrix Print Manager Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

The first is a popup message and it sometimes prevents log ons. We are finding that some printers do not autocreate and the failure to autocreate is not always recorded in event viewer. Also one user reports getting logged out even though no time outs have been set on the server or client software. When she logs back in she tries to reopen the file she was working on, only to find, of course, that the program says it is in use by another user. We have only one citrix server.

There is a new hotfix released on June 20 that may address the printer issue but I am wondering if any one else has had these same problems with PS4. Any help would be appreciated.

It is almost certainly a printer driver issue. You need to install all the printer drivers used by your users locally.

Have you found a solution to this issue.

I am running Windows 2003 Sp1 and MPS 4.0 with the hotfix PSE400W2K3003.msp installed.

I am experiencing the same problem. When a user logs in the Citrix Print Manager crashes with the error you mentioned.

I am not using native print drivers. Only the Universal driver so I don't see how this could be a driver issue.

I'm not sure if the problem was occuring before I installed the hotfix or not.
