I have two list Items, I am trying to perform the following.

1.-List ITEM
drop down choices A of B

If choice is A, then list ITEM 2 should be populated with RED,BLUE else if choice is B then List ITEM 2 should be populated with ORANGE and brown.

the selection of LIST ITEM A is done at run time and then populate list ITEM B so the user can select the value.

I tried with record groups and a trigger on "when list changes on List ITEM A, but there is an error that says that I cannot populate the list from record group.

thanks a bunch!!

1) Make sure your record group comprises of 2 VARCHAR columns - 1 to contain the element label and the other for the element value.

2) CLEAR_LIST before you repopulate with the new group.

this is what I have on my record group

select label,to_char(numeric_value) from table.lookup_items where type=49
order by numeric_value
