I'm getting close to being ready to decommission my Exchange 2003 server. I'm not sure if I've properly moved my public folders or not - only 5 or 6 of them. When i setup my Ex 07 system a few weeks ago I set my public folders to replicate to one of the information stores on the 07 machine. Right now, thats the only thing that the 2003 server is left doing - can I just stop replicating the public folders to the 2003 server and be done with it or what do I need to do exactly?

I'd read through this:

Well folks - I'm a bit behind schedule on this due to family a big family medical emergency so this has taken a lot longer to do than I had hoped.

I think I've gotten through everything on this list with two exceptions.

I've not deleted the RUS objects using ADSIEdit yet - I was going to do this at the time I remove exchange 2003.

I have 3 mailboxes on 2003 that I cannot move to my 2007 server. SMTP {LMFJ-...a SID here...}, SystemAttendant, and SystemMailbox. These do not show any recent activity and I can't find what do with them or if I can go ahead and try to remove the store and uninstall exchange 2003.

Please advise

SMTP is the connector, sysattend is the delivery boy and sysmail is the post room. If you've rehomed the connector they can all go but try dismounting the store first rather than deleting and uninstalling.

Zelandakh -

Will do on trying to dismount the store. I take it that if everything has been done correctly EX 2007 should continue to function normally.

The next question is whats next. Some docs / books say to uninstall Exchange 2003 so it can "clean up" and others say to use ADSIEdit to clean up the legacy exchange stuff or does it require a combination of both.
