preparing send/receive

this message conintuously is displayed at the bottom right of my outlok 2003 application and I cant send or receive email. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling outlook and it fixed the problem for about an hour before it did this again....Any ideas?

I've seen similar and leaving it over night resolved it.

Are you using Outlook with an exchange mailbox? Cached or not?
