I have just installed and configured a brand new 2003 domain controller of a new domain "domain.local" in a network where an existing 2000 domain exists named "domain.local.com". I am getting errors creating the trust between the two. I cannot ping the FQDN of one domain controller to another. What is involved in setting up the basic communication with DNS to get each domain contollers resolving each other in order communicate for domain/forest trust generation? thanks for any help.
