Hi, i just bought a brand new Sony HDR-FX1. I used it to film a hockey game last week as a test for HD. The programs i am using the read HD are Premiere Pro 1.5 with the patch for HD and Quicktime 7 Pro. These software are running on

AMD 64 3000+
1 gig DDR RAM dual channel
120 gig HDD
128 meg ATI 9600 pro

I have downloaded a big CODEC pak at (website is in french sorry)

On the Premiere Pro website it tells me that my computer is the minimum required to edit movies in HD. So i plugged my camera in my computer with a firewire cable and started to capture. In 5 hours of capturing i only had 10 min of films for a total of 10 gigs. But now when i try to read the file with Premiere Pro, Quicktime or Windows Media Player the sound is not synchronize, the movie is flickering and a lot of shifted pixels.

Is it normal that it takes so long? Do you have any idea why the movie is not watchable?

If you need more information just ask.
Thank you for your interest.

Do you use an integrated firewire to the PC, or a third-party card? I've heard before that sometimes corrupted capture by an integrated firewire is fixed by purchasing and using a third-party card. That's my first guess.

Also, have you defragged your hard drive to make sure it is running efficiently for capture?

Hi am using my on board firewire port. And i just defragmented my drive. But I used the CineForm Aspect HD to recapture the film and it worked perfectly.

Thanks again for your interest.
