I am going to buy a new computer because my old computer cannot handle premiere pro anymore. And most of the new computers have “ Serial-ATA 7200 rpm hard disks” And Premiere pro require for DV-capture: Dedicated 7200rpm UDMA 66 IDE or SCSI hard disk. But can I use a Serial-ATA hard disk instead of a UDMA or SCSI hard disks??

Serial ATA are as good as, and normally better than, EIDE/ATA, so you should have no worries there for DV.

If you plan on using HD with its much higher data rates, then you should take advice on minimum disk requirements for that much more demanding task.

It is better to have a separate physical hard disk for storing video clips away from the operating system and other programs to minimise unnecessary fragmentation and conflicting disk accesses. If this taxes the budget too much, the next best option is to have the disk partitioned, again to keep the video data separate from the OS etc.
