Premiere pro 1.5 keeps crashing when I copy files from previous movies

Hi, I have 2 movies on the go at the moment, 1 is a draft where I mess around and cut up 30 min clips into smaller sections and delete bits I dont want. The second I use to paste all the good bits from the draft into the timeline of the final movie. I have done this once succesfully, however when I try this with other sections Adobe premiere pro always crashes.
I have tried pasting smaller sections but it still crashes and I have tried deleting the music from the draft but still no luck, any one got any suggestions.
