Premiere Controller Preview Cross

Is there a way of removing the dreaded red preview F/X cross that is displayed dead center of the preview window. I am arranging single photographs and can play the entire project happily in real-time, but the cross still appears to let the user know that no F/X will be shown.<br>
<br>
Pleeeease Help!
