Premiere 6.5 hangs when firewire connected

Help!

I am going crazy searching for help. Premiere runs fine during the editing process unless I hook up my camera through firewire port. the capturing process goes smoothly but when I am ready to output or scrub premiere freezs immediately, alt-ctrl-del does not work, I have to hit the reset button to reboot my system. I am assuming they're may be a conflict with the pyro card and my machine or premiere. I have installed the card in different pci slots, disabled all programs running in the background, and applied many "tweaks" to the bios and registry to no avail. I have also created a hardware profile and disabled everything sharing irq's with the firewire card except the sound card. I am running out of ideas.

Ive heard that sevice pack 3 has given some people problems, Directx 9 is just out so that may help,


Try using another program that will scrub to your camera , sclive is a small program that will do this , a trial can be found at

Check to see that it is the proper codec that you've been using The maincocept codec may help, its trial codec can be dl at

http://www.mainconcept.com/archive/DVDemoCodec_v2.1.exe

also try your camera on another system if thats possible as it could be your lead, camera or your firewire.
