I cannot get a post-production house to assemble my Premier EDLs. Two large TV stations, one national (L.A. and New York and etc.) motion picture and television house, one state-level PBS organization, two professional post-production houses, and Panasonic could not get to the point of an assembly. A Grass Valley read it but had what looked like random frame errors. A Panasonic Post Box read the CMX version and displayed it, but could not assemble, even with new software from the factory and help from a sales rep. Same for an Avid and a Trinity. I don't know about the rest of the systems.
I did a 90 clip EDL for the Grass Valley in Premier 4.0 and the assembly was smooth, even with frame rate changes inside cross dissolves.
Any ideas (besides buying an Avid system)?
