Hi

I am getting the subject error in the error_logs of apache wherever I access any of my web pages which are either written in php or use php scipts, and does not work.

I am using apache version 2.0 and php was already installed on my box and I did not build it with apxs.

Is there a way that I can still use php with my apache web server without recompling php with apxs as when I try to compile php with apxs it throws asapi errors and does not comple.

Or any other workaround to get php and apache working together ?

Please help me fix this problem, your time is appreciated.
thanks
Brenda

Since you are running Apache, you should run PHP as a module. Even though PHP's support for Apache 2 is experimental, I must say that it does work very good. The only thing that doesn't work is the AddOutputFilter, but I think this has been fixed in the CVS versions of PHP.
Anyway, I'd say that you should recompile PHP with apxs, as PHP tends to work better when it's running as a module. //Daniel
