Hi. I made an animation with flash and a big picture. I made 35 frames with a "loading" text and the rest of the movie plays when it's loaded. Everything worked fine, but now I excluded the picture, and the animation loads everything and plays everything but veeeery slowly. I have a little effect in the last frames, and it would be good if I could load it in memory before play it. Any idea why my code stop working? I made a test and put the picture again, and again it worked fine!... please help!!

It's tough to say what your problem is exactly, but I'll throw a few ideas at you...

Maybe the creation of the movie and preloader needs to be made without the picture? Just make a new movie and drag your content from one library to the other, leave the picture though.

Sometimes when you have an image file, and then you remove it, there is still a sort of "pressence" left behind. Flash still retains some reference to the image file even though its been deleted. Try removing the picture from the library, even all the copies of it. And hopefully the image was on its own layer, get rid of that also. Save your work under a new movie name, and then try loading it again.

These are the only two things I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck!

hi castillo, I would concur with epic. Create two instances of your flash movie; one with the big picture, and one with out. That should narrow your test and give you a better diagnostic.

If you are using a windoze box you can test your pre-loader by holding down the control key, and hit
enter twice. Keep in mind that you must time your
pre-loader to download the entire movie to the client.

good luck
