preloader problem

I have made a percent preloader and here is what is going on. Opening it in Netscape or IE with Flash player 5-6 installed, works fine. If I open it with Netscape with Flash 4 the percent preloader cycles, the percentage does not change. The number stays at 0 and the progress bar keeps filling up and going back to empty repeatedly.
Any help?

You probably used code not supported by the Flash 4 player!

I recommend you put the code in to automatically update the users end of flash. This way there is no chance of someone running v4 when your flash loads...it will automatically update them to the current version.
