I am trying to create a 2 color job to save $$. So I used Pantone 540C, and used a 50% tint of same color, and black. I have 2 images placed which are B&W. I thought preflight should show: 1 process ink, 1 spot ink, but it shows 4 inks. What have I done? help please.

...what is shown in the seperation preview palette?

...any spot colours?

...if you turn the spot colour off and the black plate off, is there any artwork still visible?

...if not then I wouldn't worry about it.

...it could be something small like a full stop or similar, or perhaps an object touching the edge of the page and extending into the pastboard, even a frame edge of an object not used, or a object set to zero % opacity of a CMYK colour...

Andrew

...check the pantone used is set to 'Color Type - Spot' and not 'Color Type - Process'...

Andrew

...when you say black and white image, is it RGB or greyscale?
