I want to be able to dial any 7 digit # and not have to add the 212 area code. How can add this to the callmanage? Any Ideas. I'm running Callmanager 4.0.2a and I'm using a 9.@ route pattern.

Stay cool; it’s not over yet!

wavesg,

You should be able to create a translation pattern that will do it, or depending on what kind of gateway you're using modify the dial-peer to include 'prefix 212.'

A best practice is to NOT use the 9.@ macro since it takes some flexibility away from you, especially in this case.

Another idea would be to add the 212 inside the Route Pattern. Strip the 9 with a Pre@ Discard Digits and add the 212 in the Called Party Transformation Prefix Digits field. While I can see some lost flexibility by using the 9.@, you can reduce the number of Route Patterns in the system by using 9.@ and Route Filters. Using 9.@ without Route Filters is definitely risky business.
