Ok another problem--I have a huge schedule (some of it was partially cut and paste from another schedule)for some reason now when I assign a predasessor (sp?) it does not change the dates. It does not seem to be linking or shifting the rest of the days...what am I doing wrong? your help will be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks--Nicole

How are you doing your linking? Are you getting any error messages? What are the messages? After you've provided that information, then the people here who can help you may have enough to work with.

In the meantime, display the Indicators, Constraint Types and Constraint Dates columns as well as the predecessor and successor columns.

Now look at the task which isn't behaving the way you want it to when you link to it. If it should be moving (something that is a virtually guaranteed if the constraint type is ASAP) then look at the Summary task it is part of. It may have a Finish No Later Than constraint which will impact all of its subtasks.
