Pre-press print output

I need to create output from a Crystal Reports that is high enough quality to send to pre-press for high quality output of a parts catalog. What suggestions do you have to do this?

Get a windows printer driver for the intended printer, and do a test before you do too much work. I suspect the graphics may be problem, but.... Malcolm

Does the output have to be paper?

Some prepress can take digital output right to the press. Ken Hamady
