pre G3 mac and OS 9 1

before I commit myself to a job of getting os 9 onto a 7000 series mac, does os 9 install to it?

they want illustrator 10 so that means os 9.

i know they should buy a new mac, they know it too, but anyway...

you star jimbo - exactly what I was looking for. Your next challenge is a list of the same machines and what RAM they take. I used to have a little book that detailed RAM, slots, buses and so on but I can't find it any more.

The OS 9 install on the 7100Av has proved futile for me.
I suspect it CAN be done but then to drop Illustrator on there and expect results? Hell no!

progress report - managed the OS 9 install and everything works. Only downer is that a 7100 with 72MB RAM won't take Illustrator 10.

Now looking for replacement hardware.

While the 7100 can take 136 meg of RAM, it may be a bad time to invest more $ in it I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.
