We plan on recording all phone calls. When a client calls one of our employees directly, we would like to place a greeting, indicating that the phone call may be recorded.

Is there a better way to do this than to create a CCR Tree to forward to the employee, assign that tree to a greeting table, assign that recorded message to the greeting table, then assign that greeting table to their line?

I would rather not do this for each employee if I didn't have to. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

You will need to use a standard greeting that says "You have reached ABC Company, this call is being recorded" then use a CCR/Transfer to send the call to the proper extensions. Meaning you will need a seperate CCR and Table for each line to insure the DID gets transferred to the proper extension.

Unfortunately there is no other way of handling this. I had to setup this exact scenario for a client and they loved it. It may mean a bit of initial configuration, but once it's done, it's done.

Ah, that's a shame, but it does at that extra level of flexibility afterwards of customized routing/messages.

Thanks for your help!

Alright, so I have set up a trial with my own DN.

I have a CCR/Transfer (Intercom to my DN), a standard company greeting, both mapped to a greeting table. I have that greeting table assigned to the Auto-attendant line.

When I test from an outside line, my work phone does a partial ring (not quite a full ring...maybe half), then stops...when it stops my standard company greeting plays, after the greeting I get transfered and my phone rings again.

Is there a way to eliminate this partial ring? I know I'll get some employee feedback from this.

Also, my Number of Rings on the Auto-attendatnt was set to 0 when I got the partial ring. Setting it to 1 allows it to ring the full ring, setting to 2 allows two full rings.

I set it back to 0 and the next test call only flashed the light on my phone. Any test calls after that again are doing the partial ring.

if you have any lines programmed on your phone and your aa, ccr answering on 0 rings then ur going to get that half ring, you need to make the lines appear only to get rid of that.

My line was set to Ring Only.

Changing it to Appear Only worked, but now I have "Line xxx" taking up one of my 6 side soft-keys.

I don't seem to be able to modify the button programming table entry for this button either. Any work arounds for this?

Pushing the button gives the message "Incoming Only." What is it really for and why have it on the screen?

Didn't realize I could do that. So a DN doesn't necessarily need a line?

Only if you want it to ring initially like that first "chirp" of ringing before the AA answered. Keep your goal in mind before you think too hard about it.. Target Lines are how your system works.. You're just fronting them with the AA and not having them ring the phone first.

You could have one line (ie: target line 245) ring multiple phones if you wanted. Just assign them to the set..

Any suggestions for our CEO's/Receptionist's line?

Currently any calls to the CEO's direct dial also rings the receptionist's phone.

His target line is attached to her phone.

Using a Greeting Table with a CCR that transfers to his extension kind of bypasses that. Any workarounds?

Thanks again!
