Practical FCAPS examples

Just working on an assignment at the moment involving "a world without FCAPS" and was wandering if anyone could give me some examples of each of the 5 main functional areas of FCAPS? [Fault management, Configuration management, Accounting management, Performance management, Security management].

Preferably that would relate to a small scale business. I have a good general understanding of FCAPS [Future soft do a good paper here:

] but I need to be able to apply some real world practical examples to each of the 5 areas. I thought someone with a bit more networking knowledge and experience could suggest some things...?
