You can make the viewer start a presentation at a particular slide number with some "command line" options.

How about setting up a custom show?
Tools, Custom Show
It allows you to choose the slides, the order, and set it as the presentation.
The setup show window will allow you to select which of the custom shows, or the complete presentation you want to give.
