PPTP over PPPoE

Does anyone know of issues with the PPPoE "dialer" supplied by ADSL providers (winpoet?) and Win2k VPN? Server side is good, I can connect (going through a broadband router) but another user is using the verizon software, he can establish the vpn tunnel but cannot even ping the server. Routing table shows a route to the server side subnet using the the client ip interface:
192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.52 192.168.1.52 1

Any ideas?
