PPT 2003 doesn't play .avi

Hi,

Anybody know that we can play .avi in powerpoint 2003?
I tried on few laptops & PC that has office 2003, I don't see the video but only audio. I have to change it to full screen to be able to see the video, if I don't choose full screen, i only see black box inside the slide.
I could open that .avi in Windows Media Player on those system.
Powerpoint xp doesn't have problem with .avi

I think .wma should work.

yes, i had to convert it to wmv, but it's strange, why 2003 can't play it

i think its only wmv compatible in ppt
any other format will not work.
