Dear,
We have recently created Powerplay reports on a relative small cube. These reports were made for users in Russia, while the server running Cognos is situated in Belgium. When I run these reports on the web, the reports come out fine without a problem. But when the users in Russia run these reports, they do have a problem.
The reports do not come through. A process called pprp.exe is started, which probably takes care of the report PDF generation. But the problem is that this process takes up all CPU. The server becomes immensely slow. And this report keeps on running. After a while the Russian users get the following error message when trying to run this report:
The Powerplay Server is busy and cannot complete the request. Please try again.
Please try again or contact your administrator.
So the Russian users cannot look at the reports. Are there some settings that have to be set for this to work correctly? I don’t think it is a very good idea to let this process almost kill an entire server by taking up so much CPU.
Our Cognos version is Cognos Series 7 Version 3 MR2
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards
Jelle
