Is it possable to do PPPoE with the pix
Anybody have any info on ths setup??

Yes. You will need firmware 6.2.x. I posted a sample config in thread35-424292.

With that config how does the PIX determine the route outside? DHCP?

Also how does it do authentication? With vpdn?

vpdn group dialgroup request dialout pppoe
vpdn group dialgroup localname <username> <-your ISP Username?
vpdn group dialgroup ppp authentication pap <- what determines this protocol ?
vpdn username <username> password <password> <- ISP username and Password ?

Sorry for so many questions this is new ground for me

It gets the route when it logs on with the configured PPoE username and password, a la DHCP.
