PPPOe on Mandrake 8.1 with Westell ADSL Modem 2

I have just really started using linux (mandrake) at home and I have everything setup except the DSL connection I need some help in getting connected to the internet basically. I installed the roaringpenguin app and I still have no sucess with reaching my DSL Modem is there any other DSl software for a Westell modem that Linux can use? Or is there a simple way for a linux beginner to get this to work ?

In Mandrake 8.1 or 8.0 all you have to do is start DrakConf and click on network. Select ADSL and answer the questions and that is it. Simple as that. Some distros have wizards just like NT.
