Hi everyone,

I'm still trying to connect to the internet from Mandrake 9.0.

When I type 'man pppd' in the terminal it gives a reference page to the command.

But when I type the command it says command isn't found.

Do I need to move to a certain directory to run the command? Thanks

You would have to be root to execute it, and root is the only one who has it in the $PATH variable. From a shell, you'd su to root and then execute the command. //Daniel

I used su to login to root and typed pppd into the terminal.
How can I find out what it's doing? It just went back to the prompt. Thanks

It's a deamon, so that's what it does. Normally you'd check the logfiles to see what it has been doing. //Daniel

Tricia,
the pppd command takes lots of options and you need to know what your doing. Read the pppd howto and follow the easy steps in there, that better than us trying to guide you through it.
I can't remember the options in my head but they're not for beginners :)
