PPP modem problem

I can establish a analog PPP connection to my S8700 thru the “remote” login, and also open ASA and login, however the connection always drops after exactly 60 seconds, regardless of whether or not I have opened ASA yet. Anyone else have this problem?

I had the same problem with my laptop (fujitsu Siemens) since i have a Dell the problems are gone. it looks like it has to do with the laptop and not the modem. i've tried also external modems without succes.
