Hi,
While viewing a Published Cube in the Upfront, a String
" Cognos PowerPlay Web Explorer <Cube Name>" is seen. I need to remove this. Unlike the published IMR reports, these cubes don't use the UTML Files.

Do anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks,

Prasad

Hi Prasad,

I don't think this string is removable... I remember something about that string being hard-coded in the program. Also the color for the bar with that string (the dark-blue bar) is not changeable.

Prasad,
If you amend the file banner.xslt in the ppserver subfolder of your installation, you can remove the reference to @cubename. (I've qualified the name, added a company logo and other text)

Lysen, the colour is changeable - but it's not easy - you need to open the .exe file for ppserver as a .txt file, look for the hex code for the dark blue, change it to the colour you want and then change the saved file back to an .exe

Naturally, for either of the above changes, take a back up copy of the file first!

Sudhi,
Apologies; you're right - I'm thinking of something else.

styles.css file in the path cer3\webcontent\ppweb

look for:
***********************************************/
/* Window */
/***********************************************/

/* window banner */
.Banner
{
background-color: #000099;

and change that to the hex code you want.

wow that's cool.. Maybe Cognos doesn't want us users hacking into the .exe files! :-D

I'm going to try to get the blue replaced with our nice company yellow! ;-) Thanks!

i have updated all the screens to my look&feel except one.

thats the Impromptu report, the result page comes with a frame containg page previous/next buttons and a heading Report Navigatory. I tried to search that, but could not find.

Rest all perfect. no exes edited, i dont think there is a need for that.

My problem is the opposite -- We have a cube called "Cube X" that is available to the "public" population through UPFRONT. My users all start with this cube then manipulate the data and save it to their personal newsbox with a meaningful name.

Now they have 15 cubes in their newsbox with titles like "Customer X current month sales", "All Customers Sales by Product Line", etc. When they open one of these reports in PPWEB, that blue title line at the top still reads "Cube X" and the users do not know which one of their reports they are in.

Is there a way to get PPWEB to substitue (or add) the user's report name once the cube is opened ?? The user's report name must exist somewhere linked to that file because it displays the name in their newsbox, and knows what to open when you click on it.

hummmmmmmmmm thats interesting and challenging.

nothing in my hat to pickup.
