Hello, we are running Cognos 7.3 and having some performance issue. What I have found is that:
1) there are many PPDSWEB.exe instants in Windows Process Manager, are these for cache purpose?
2) when I run a report, the CPU % jumps up to 25% of one PPDSWEB.exe instant and lasts for about 20 seconds. My question is: why the CPU is not going over 25% and finishs in a shorter period of time, for example, CPU 99% and finish in 2 seconds. Where is the settings that controls it?
And When the second report runs, another PPDSWEB uses around 25% of the CPU and so on...
3) In the cube settings, it can set maximum and minimum processes, is this the same as the number of CPU processor? I guess it is not, but what is the processor stands for then?
4) I read some article about set the READCACHESize in cer2.ini file, but I can not find the file in our Cognos server, is this applied to 7.3 as well?
Thanks,
Fshguo.
