Hiiii @ all,

it is a funny question but yesterday i couldnt find it on the PP8100 System. A static default route nor a vlan default gateway was possible to configure on it.

Can anybody help me ? I need a default gateway to connect the device about the routing.

Info:

The PP8100 hast only one Vlan with one management IP Adress !!!

THX

Hi,

You need add the following command to have the 8100 reachable through your network:

config bootconfig net mgmt route add x.x.x.x (network) x.x.x.x (default gateway).

You can check on the mgmt port in option 'route' to verify the default gateway.

Good luck

Hi, thx for your answer.

you wrote the syntax:

config bootconfig net mgmt route add x.x.x.x (network) x.x.x.x (default gateway)

why the net mgmt port ? I have only the vlan ip and the default gateway is in the network 192.168.1.0 /24. in my opinion it is not possible to configure the same network IP like the vlan on the net mgmt port.

or is the route command only for the static route and has no relationship with the mgmt port ????

Hi,

The static route on the mgmt port is ment to be the way to configure your default gateway. The switch will use this setting for communication outside it's own subnet, without the need to use your mgmt port (cable connect).
In short, you need to configure the default gateway of the ES8100 on the mgmt port to activate, even of you don't use this port. The switch will use this route for l3 purposes.
