Hi,

I have a impropmtu report with a PowerPrompt.
The input is Year and Month/s.
We only allow for one year to be selected.
However the user can select one, two or three months etc.
Everything works fine and I get my sum for the selected period (for eg. {2003}, {Jan, Feb, Mar}).

Now let say I wan't to drilldown to another report which I wan't to use the same period for. How would I accomplish that?

I'm using Impromptu 7 to create reports and I publish them on a Upfront server.

Thanks in advance, [afro]

It should be no problem as long as Impromptu has a "full" (yyyy-mm-dd)date, and not just mm or something. Even if you don't use/need days of the month, the actual date fields should have dates.

Transformer uses the actual dates to break out your defined groups (Q1, YTD, Jan etc.), but when you drill back, PP puts the actaul date range in the filter.

In your example it will pass a date filter of 2003-01-01 to 2003-03-31 to Impromptu.

Hope this helps & if you need more details please let me know.

Hi Bruce and thanks for your quick response.

I wasn't very clear describing my problem.
The problem is that I can't seem to drill down when using dates or in() prompts (like in('01', '02', '03')).
Instead I always use standard propmts and prompt again for each drilldown report. Which is not the ideal way.
I would really like to use powerprompt and prompt only once.

I appreciate your efforts.
