Powerpoint XP Add-In

I have a feeling that i'm being completely stupid here, but am I write or wrong in thinking that if i've created a macro in a powerpoint document, saved the document as an add-in and then loaded that add-in, I should get access to that macro from all documents opened in powerpoint?? Maybe it's just Monday morning and my brains not gear!.
