Dear all,

Does anyone know why text in a text box (or placeholder) in PowerPoint 2000 re-sizes itself after the presentation has been saved, closed and re-opened?

Right-clicking the text box, selecting Format Placeholder> Text Box > 'Resize auto shape to fit text' doesn't always work.

Can anyone help please?

Sam

Hello Sam,
This is a default configuration of PowerPoint.

The setting can be found under Tools, Autocorrect.
On the AutoFormat as you type tab.

Autofit text to (body/title) placeholder.

They are designed to allow additional lines of text without the user having to resize the placeholder.
So, when you resize a placeholder/text box closer than Powerpoint likes - it shrinks the font size to fit. . .

Hope this helps.
