I have a fairly simple slideshow that I am playing on a dedicated machine with a cloned monitor to a messege board TV. The show will play through a few times, but eventually will just freeze on a random slide. It is not always the same slide. I have tried removing all slide action but it still freezes up eventually. It is the slide show freezing, not the PC. There is no sound, no avi or any special slides in the show. The PC is more than adequate for this application, and it is dedicated to this task. I have even tried using a different PC and get the same result. Am wondering if a PPS is not designed to just continuously play for hours or days at a time!?

Are you using a projector or the actual PPT app? I would think that exporting to a projector and running that would drop a lot of processor overhead. Just my 2pence

"cckens is a nick... why the H-E- double-hockey-sticks am I using a nick for a name? Am I afraid of who I am?"

"...don't know why, but I think of chickens when I see that nick...maybe even choking chickens???"

I have saved the PPT as a slidshow (PPS) and am running the PPS, if that is what you mean.

There have been quite a few reports of powerpoint locking up when running continuously. Somekind of 'memory leak'

The best options I've heard are these:

1) Use the free powerpoint viewer to view the show, and not the full powerpoint software

2) Schedule powerpoint to start using this

and stop when nobody will see it stop, then re-start it

cheers
