I had created a PP presentation with quite a few pictures on it. Now, when I open the file, the pictures are showing as red crosses???
Is this is a memory thing? Lamaar75@hotmail.com

No it is not a memory issue. What could be happening is that powerpoint can't find the original link to the photos. Try placing the photos in the same directory as the power point presentation and then adding them back in. This should alleviate the problem.

Hope this helped.

I disagree with WebGodiva. And WebGodiva's fix is only good if you linked the files in the first place. I don't link mine.

It very well could be a memory issue.

I've just submitted the following as an FAQ for Red Xs in your files:

1. How big is your file now?
You can generally cut the size of a file considerably by taking these steps with each picture:
a) Cut it.
b) Hit Edit-Paste special-As a picture.

2. When's the last time you cleaned up your hard drive?
Lack of resources often effects graphic images.
a) Delete all *.tmp and ~*.* files from your hard drive.
b) Run scandisk.

Also remember that if you turn the presentation into a self-running show, PP will compress the pics and keep it all together for you. Of course, editing is now a thing of the past :) I use this to make presentations small enough to email to clients.
