Powerpoint patch kb951338, install failed

Has anyone failed to get this Powerpoint patch in place?
I have 1 XP pro machine that refuses to install, either thru updater or downloading manually.
It doesnt give a reason, it just fails.
I see others with same problem out there, none have a resolution.

The patch worked for me on an XP Pro SP3, Office Pro 2003 SP3 install.

It failed for me on another computer that I administer. That computer was XP MCE SP2, Office Standard 2003 SP3. I saw others out there with the same problem but no resolution when I was looking a couple of weeks ago.

What SP level is your XP install at? I'm wondering if the failure happens on XP SP2 only.

hmmm sp2, could be that
spose I should get sp3 in place and see what happens.

Well the lappie blew up after installng sp3, never had that happen before. Leads me to believe there were bigger things goin on.
reimaged lappie, all is right with the world again.
