(Currently using PowerPoint 2010, sometime in next few months/year at most, likely to be using Office 2013)

How difficult would it be to add links/shapes that would show up when the mouse moves, but hide after so much time like the cursor does? I'd like to hide them at the exact same time if possible.

My idea:
1. Have a few links at the bottom of each slide, more or less an in-line index.
2. During presentation, the links only show when mouse is moved, so as to interfere less with the actual presentation
3. Do not print these items, only use during presentation

I can probably guess my way around most of the VBA if that's how to do it, but was wondering if anyone knows of a non-vba way, or a good reference that has any information on the topic.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/suggestions/references

1. Put them inside a text box or autoshape.
2. Mouse move would require VBA to intercept the event I think, and also think it would be rather awful to implement nicely. However "mouse over" is exposed to the "Action" menu. From there you can run a VBA macro by mousing over the autoshape.
3. No clue.

Thanks. I was thinking of using text shapes, and adding links inside those shapes, but am not opposed to other methods that might exist but to which I'm unaware. I didn't even think about the printing piece of it until I had one comment about printing the slides. Not many folks print them, but a few do. Yeah, I was thinking about using on mouse move, most likely. The hover over property may not be what I want, b/c I think it'd be best to move the mouse, and have all links show at bottom for easy pickings.. whereas otherwise would have to hunt for and find one before it showed up. Thanks for the thoughts.
