Hi All,

I have a problem with a powerpoint presentation. When loading it up or inserting or even importing into powerpoint a message says...

Powerpoint can't read the outline <file.ppt>....

This file should be a normal PPT file and was created on the same computer that I am trying to load it on. I've searched on the net for help but not much is mentioned. Can any of you help?

Many thanks in advance

RodP

Are you opening it in the same version of PowerPoint that the file was created in? I've seen users with PowerPoint XP have problems opening PowerPoint 2003 created files even though Microsoft states the formats are the same. Just a thought.

Hi StuckInTheMiddle,

Sorry for not replying sooner, it was made on exactly the same PC, windows 2k SP4, office 2000.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Rod

Assuming that there is nothing wrong with the filename (e.g. a double extension - mypres.123.ppt), it sounds like the particular presentation may be messed up. If that's the case see

Recovering a corrupt presentation

Don't forget to copy the file as a safety before trying anything.
